Facebook, Now Larger Than Most Countries!

September 18th, 2009

facebook Facebook, Now Larger Than Most Countries!Facebook head honcho and CEO Mark Zuckerberg released a statement on the companies official blog yesterday, that Facebook was now serving over 300 million people across the world.

Certainly impressive social networking might, in fact there are only 3 countries with larger populations than Facebook – China with 1.33 billion, India with 1.17 billion and the surely soon to be overtaken America, with 307 million.

Considering there are an estimated total of 1.67 billion people out there in Cybertron, that is quite an impressive slice of the global internet-user pie, meaning approximately 18% of all internet users are on Facebook and contributing to their revenue streams, most probably rather than working!

How far can Facebook grow? Only time will tell, but so far they’ve certainly had a good run in remaining dominant and relevant against the often fickle trends of social networking that can tag you as yesterday’s MySpace.
